Research and writing

We have extensive experience of the practicalities of carrying out research with local people, groups and organisations. We have carried out numerous telephone and face-to-face interview programmes; conducted qualitative and quantitative surveys; run focus groups and built up evidence from desk-research.
Collecting research evidence at neighbourhood level is seldom straightforward. We place great emphasis on respecting participants’ culture, background and local context, engaging with them on their terms and seeking to bring out messages that resonate with their experience. A distinctive part of our process is the ‘playback’ session, where we offer a preliminary version of our findings to a group of stakeholders: this helps to refine the findings and ensure ownership over the results.
We value our strong reputation for well-written reports that are interesting to read and useful.
