About Local Level

Local Level is an independent consultancy set up by Kevin Harris, offering expertise in aspects of neighbourhood life. Local Level provides research, advice, information, and event design for policy makers, managers of local services, practitioners and community groups. Local Level specialises in:
Putting policy measures into a local context, and local issues into a policy context
Demonstrating the role of communication and information in neighbourhoods
Working with key experts to provide an understanding of all aspects of life in neighbourhoods


About Kevin Harris
 
Kevin Harris has over 20 years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on how people communicate, share information, and interact at local level. Email to discuss your needs or call 0773 042 9993.

He has worked with community groups at neighbourhood level, carried out research for a wide range of agencies, and contributed advice to government on various issues including community online networks, social inclusion, public libraries and communities, and citizen participation.
 
Kevin is the author of numerous reports, articles and book chapters. He is the editor of Respect in the neighbourhood: why neighbourliness matters, published by Russell House in 2006, and writes the Neighbourhoods blog. He has designed and run numerous events from international conferences to specialised workshops, and is an experienced speaker.

He is an associate consultant to the Community Development Foundation and the National Extension College, and an associate of the Centre for Intergenerational Practice.
